Mumble 1.2.4 RC

Thanks to your help we have been able to resolve quite a few issues since entering beta for 1.2.4. We have now reached a point where we feel confident putting out a release candidate for the new version.

Unless any new, release-critical, issues are found we plan to release the actual Mumble 1.2.4 stable shortly.

As always you can find the download at mumble.info.

EDIT: We (finally) resolved our build system issues and barring any unexpected blockers appearing we will release Mumble 1.2.4 this Saturday (1st June, 2013) evening (CEST). Sorry for the delay.

Beta was already pretty stable, looking forward to the final release.
Thanks for all the work and effort everyone puts into this. :)

  3. Zhen-Xlogic says:

As i notice the 1.2.4 RC is working perfect into Windows 8 Professional
The 1.2.3 in Windows 8 Professionals Chrases and Freezes.

    Thanks Mumble team!!!

    • Lipe123 says:

I don’t know how you did it but it refuses to install in windows 8 for me. Since it’s a msi file there is also no “run as administrator” option on the installer.

      I’m frankly just stumped here.

  4. Mark says:

There are some really nice features on the list! I’m loooking forward to the release!

But will the new version be added to the slicer PPA (for current Ubuntu versions)? The last update has been in 2011 and there is no other PPA for Murmur that I know of…

  5. Loulou says:

1.2.4 RC is in private beta?

    • .D0T says:

Nothing private about it. You can download it from the homepage.

      • Loulou says:

Yeah, but 1.2.4 RC server code was not in download where my post was written.

Why server code is not in sourceforge as 1.2.3, since mumble.info redirect on sourceforge?

  6. Stephen Dame says:

Have you integrated the 1.2.4 server to freeswitch mod_opus?

    Great project

    regards,
    Stephen

    • .D0T says:

No. We do not have any soft-pbx integration at this point. Though with Opus being widely supported that’s obviously something that should be possible without transcoding.

  7. Виктор says:

Good day! I play in a world of tanks and the recent impact of the club, my clan gradually switched to using “Mumble”. It is pretty easy to use, but after yet another reinstall Windows following problem. When you first start “Mumble” No Audio everywhere and play audio and video files. After you have removed all starts. Please help!
    Thank you. Sincerely, Victor

Thank you for Mumble. Release 1.2.4 with the latest Opus version.

  10. Larry Smith says:

1.2.4 RC does not fix the problem with Overlay not working on Windows 7 64 bit Java and DirectX 11.

    • .D0T says:

Those two (new) features simply didn’t make it in time for 1.2.4. DirectX 11 already received some work and we might have something to test shortly after the release. No work has been done to make the overlay 64-bit target application compatible. We will do so eventually but other stuff comes first.

  11. Hello,

When is the planned release date for the stable version of Mumble 1.2.4?

    Thanks,

    Stuart

    • .D0T says:

We currently have some build-system issues related to our Linux static servers that prevent us from releasing. We noticed the statics not being as widely compatible as they ought to be which needs to be fixed.

Apart from that there are no known blockers I know of. Unfortunately I can’t give a proper release date at this point so I’d recommend watching this blog, our social media or IRC for future updates.

      • Phil says:

Thats why I can’t get 1.2.4 get running on Ubuntu 12.04 x64? With 1.2.3 its working, but with 1.2.4 I get an error, that MYSQL isn’t available…
Will you update the server-files on the PPA too?

      • Guest says:

        IMHO, holdin

      • Guest says:

IMHO, you’re overrating static Linux binaries and holding the release over Linux static servers is the most pointless thing ever. Most Linux distros allow to compile from source without much trouble. I could understand delaying the release if a Windows binary wasn’t working, but Linux?

      • skeepy says:

        Hi,

any new info on the 1.2.4 release date?

        Thanks.

  12. nonW00t says:

    64-bit yet??

  13. Zach says:

    Looks great!

How close do you think you are to the stable release?

  14. Arnefar says:

    Great work all of you.
Can’t wait till the 1.2.4 goes stable, any ETA on that?

  15. Antonio says:

When will you release the final version? :(

  16. Signez says:

Hey, thanks again for all your work on Mumble for so many years. It drastically change our workflow, enabling weekly webradio

However, I’m waiting since mi-February for the brand new version; in my team, we are already using the release candidate, but it’s not very intuitive for our guests… When should be expect the final release? (…beside “when it’s done” ? ;) )

    Thanks again for everything <3

  17. dave says:

Seems there was an update. My clients are updating but I cannot find any info on whether or not there is a need to update my server from rc1-8-gb115a29 to rc1-9-gdeeb72

  18. DrLeh says:

Haven’t been able to click links since I installed Windows 8. Have to right click- copy :(

  19. Loulou says:

    Hello Mumble,

Do you know when source code for 1.2.4 will be available again? I would like to play with it.

It seems to be it had been remove from download.

Due to “We currently have some build-system issues related to our Linux static servers that prevent us from releasing” ?

    Thanks.

  20. Brian says:
